MAGICAL VITALITY - A DISH, A PLANT AND A PAIR OF SCISSORS
Spring is on its way! The magic of life is at work! The perfect time to remind ourselves and also teach the young about magic and enhance our lives with nature's ways, pure joy! On our Way to enlightenment, we often hear ''See the tree in the seed''. Seeing the highest potential in everyone is a magical act. It is like putting the seed in rich fertile soil. It is unlocking a door on the infinite potential of life. Vitality is at the source of creativity that generates life and vice versa . . . this is the circle of life. Taking aside all scientific studies that give us a great understanding and explain the process in detail, the enchantment of the child who sees the first little green sprout rise up in just a few days after planting a pea in the soil is mesmerizing! Nurture this life-lesson for your child with your own enthusiasm by following the process of transformation from seed to food to seed. Do it for yourself, to remind yourself of your own cycles of growth, of your highest potential to create life and magic! As you eventually enjoy some raw peas together, sitting outside , take a small box and choose with your small partner a few peas to put in it. Give the child the responsibility to watch over this treasure box which contains the promise of life. This lesson will serve a child through life, the seed of care and respect for nature will forever grow.
Prepare an Easter gift. Gardening can be as simple as planting a different seed, different flower, different color in half eggshells filled with dark black earth. Put the half eggshells back in the egg container and give this to a child to care for, as you both water everyday, feel the warmth of the earth under the sun on the awakening seed, tell the story . . . and watch him or her expect life . . . watch how he or she will wait for each of them to show up, until the last one . . . watch the hope . . . and then see the victory! The happiness ! Keep the magic alive!
Establish the relationship with plants early for your child. Eat outside, put plants around on the table. My favorite restaurant is a place where the owners, a couple in their eighties, comes to greet you with a small dish, an oregano plant and a pair of scissors. One pours olive oil in the dish and the other cuts up oregano leaves in fine pieces that fall freely in the oil. They then tell you some good news they can read in your plate!! Always good news! They do this for everyone coming in. People wait on line because it is THE first step to their offering... the seed for a great meal has been planted!
