Ayurveda (“ayur” is “science” and “veda” is “life”) is the oldest health science on Earth, and it has eight branches. Rasayana (“rasa” is “essence” and “ayana” is “path”) is one of them. It works with the most vital of the inner energies that sustain life. Self-checking and correcting at this vital level was a daily practice for the ancient yogis of “Humanitaria” (now Persia, India and Burma). This practice maintained their perfect health into old age. Even when living past 100, there was very slight aging.
Today there is an obsessive pursuit of objects and concepts, resources and concepts, and checking on one’s vitality has been completely lost. In the modern world the focus is on feeding the body and the intellect and accomplishing their many goals of external measure. We are living in an empty bubble, an intellectual concept of life. Not on a path of happiness but on one of disruption, disease, disappointment and distrust. We have lost our inner-sense, the infinite nature of innocence.
Now is the time to make the move and counter this obsession that measures value through accumulation. We are humans who have a responsibility to experience and share the essence of this experience with others. We are capable of appreciating the pure joy that comes with this essence.
This is rasa-ayana, the path of pure essence. It is the true value of human existence. This is your role, your opportunity as a person of consciousness. It is high time to live it.
