MANTRA:
'Man' means mind and 'Tra' means projection. A mantra projects
from the mind and is used to clear the mind and focus on a particular
aspect of life.
Sat Nam: Ancient writings on Kundalini
yoga described the sound of an "inhale" as "SSSSssss-t"
and they spelled it (Sat).
Since breathing is our deepest link to life they called it the sound
of the "truth of life". The breath in reverse "NNNNnnn-mm"
is the sound of a satisfied "exhale" (a sigh of relief if you will)
and they spelled this as (Nam).
Since these two sounds represented the most basic of all our expressions
they said this was our "true identity" or in other words "Sat
Nam" is the "true name".
It's a mantra and is often used as an expression in conversation
to mean "hello", "good bye", yes or agreement
and much, much more. It's said by the ancients that the only truth
is the sound of the breath. When you add any sound to this it becomes
your opinion.
